Hi,
I don't know what my thing is about the weather, but I sure write about it enough. So not to let you down, the weather stinks. Yes, Santa remembered his ride this AM. It was cool out, but nice. When I left after my Santa duties, it was raining so I bundled up - hood and all - and headed to my hotel. Santa got a bit damp, but no worse for wear.
Man, you sure can tell tomorrow is Thanksgiving! The Mall was nuts with people. That's good for Santa because that means more people are looking for "The Claus" to have a picture taken. We had a good line most of the day. Not a long wait to see Santa, but enough to build anticipations. Needless to say, we did not disappoint. Now what is the most asked for Christmas gifts? Barbies, DS, PsP, and every Lego you can think of. The only big things kids are asking for are IPods and Xbox 360's. So nothing too different from last year, except the kids are only asking for 1 or 2 things not 7 or 8. I find that a bit refreshing.
We really have a wide range of people coming to see Santa this year. Of course we have the newborns, or kids that have been too scared to see or be with Santa. But today we had a group of college students from the Middle East who just stood off to the side in amazement. After watching them for awhile, I could not resist going over and asking them if they wanted to see Santa. Well, that was all it took and I had one brave person say "yes." Then the whole group of 5 were trying to get in on the fun. They even asked if one of my helpers (who does all the acrobatics) would be in a picture with them. She looked at me and I said, "Why should I have all the fun?" so she got her picture taken several times. I even let them sit in the "Big Chair." They came up to me afterward and thanked me, told me where they were from, and said they never dreamed someone would go to such extremes for kids. I explained what Santa was and is, and I loved their expressions.
Now to the pictures. One family of kids each gave me their list, so I had to give them the "once over." In the other picture, I am meeting with my fans on a quick break.
So give thanks for what you have tomorrow.
Santa
